Hike Hudson

Hike Hudson 2018!  Bigfoot Has Returned! (9/1 – 11/30)

The Friends of Hudson Parks’ annual hiking event Hike Hudson has kicked off, with two challenges this year!

Hike Hudson! In Search of Bigfoot: With autumn upon us it’s time to begin looking for Bigfoot again in the Hudson Parks. Hike Hudson encourages you to explore the wide variety of Hudson’s parks, and you’ll need to keep an eye out for Bigfoot’s shadows hiding in each of the eight parks included in the event.  This Friends of Hudson Parks’ event runs September 1 – November 30.

Hikers need to complete eight trails by November 30 to meet the challenge. Hike the trails, record the dates hiked in the 2018 Hike Hudson form (available for download here), and turn in completed forms to Open Door Coffee or the Destination Hudson Visitor Center by November 30.

Open Door Coffee is at 164 North Main Street in Hudson and Destination Hudson Visitor Center is at 27 East Main Street (the historic town hall).

The first 150 hikers to turn in completed Hike Hudson forms will win a free Bigfoot refrigerator magnet crafted by local metal artists Kindred Metal!

In Search of Bigfoot Multi-Cache: A new challenge this year by the Muddy Dawgs for Geocaching Bigfoot enthusiasts, find the “FOHP – In Search of Bigfoot” multi-cache located in Maple Grove Park, log your find at the cache and on line at Geocaching.com by the end of November and you will automatically be eligible to be one of ten random winners of a Bigfoot bottle opener, also crafted by local metal artists Kindred Metal. Winners will be contacted through their geocaching accounts. The cache details can be found here.

Hike Hudson and other 2018 activities are made possible in part through the support of “Best Friends” annual sponsor, Hudson Preschool Parents.
